Deep Shave Biopsy is also known as saucerisation, which is performed in the doctor's clinic under local anaesthetic. This is a deeper incision which allows the doctor to ascertain the depth of the cancer and gauge the stage. This is done under local anaesthetic and not usually sewn closed.
